TAKE ACTION

DEMOCRACY WILL DIE WITHOUT PARTICIPATION AND AN OPEN DIALOGUE.

Thanks for joining the conversation!

EMPATHY TENT PROJECT

We believe that we need to always have a genuine dialogue with each other, regardless of the differences in our moral worldviews because we must find a way to move past political position-taking and address the challenges that we all face in a healthy and sustainable way. Otherwise, we keep letting hate, violence and fear to define our actions and we all know how this usually ends. For that reason, we have partnered with the Center for Building a Culture of Empathy to be part of the Empathy Tent Project. The idea is to listen to all sides and promote facilitated and constructive dialogue via Empathy Circles in the public square -as we did in Trumphobia- and also online. By doing this, we show how it’s possible to engage in constructive dialogue among people who have different views, and we help people to breakdown stereotypes and see each other as people, not as ideological representatives. On top of that, we promote finding common ground to solve problems without wasting time screaming at each other.

The International Documentary Association, a nonprofit organization based in the USA, is our fiscal sponsor so, if you would like to make a donation to collaborate with our social impact campaign, your contribution will be tax-deductible in the USA. The money will be used to organize film discussions in as many academic environments as possible,  and promote an open dialogue from all sides to try to bridge the political divide.

Do you want to host a screening with your classmates, friends, colleagues, or neighbors? Whether you’re holding an in-home screening, a school-wide event, or convening guests on behalf of an organization, we are very happy to assist you. Secure a screening license with us, and we will send you a tool kit to help you host it. It includes a planning guide, a discussion guide, and other assets to promote the event.

Click on the flyers below to find out about the events and film discussions we host along with other organizations that we partner with. If you don't want to miss an invitation, please sign up on top of the page.

Trumphobia Film Discussion

We have partnered with the organization Braver Angels in the USA, and on March 23rd we are going to have a Film Discussion that everyone is very welcome to assist. Director, Carolina Sosa, will be there as well! You will watch our documentary and then discuss it with people from all sides: red, blue, green, purple, etc. Braver Angels brings Americans together to bridge the partisan divide and they believe -as we do- that the best way to achieve a more perfect Union is by being forthright and transparent about our political leanings. In that spirit, come with your convictions, your willingness to listen, and your readiness to talk with others who disagree with you.

We are having our first educational virtual screening of Trumphobia, along with an Empathy Circle, where you can join us and talk freely with the other side with the help of a moderator. Watch our movie for free, meet our director, and have a deep and empathic conversation with the rest of the participants -that may think differently than you- but are all there to have an open dialogue on how we can move forward together!
